They may begin with twists, braids or interlocking, and each method creates a different starting appearance, maintenance experience and path toward maturity. The right choice depends on your texture, density, lifestyle, length goals and comfort with ongoing upkeep.

The team talks through those differences instead of treating every head the same. Funmi brings a particularly detail-focused microloc foundation, while Taé and Yasmine perform the full menu as well. You can select the stylist you prefer or allow the system to match you with the first available artist.

Installation planning and realistic pricing

Standard microloc installations start at $2,100. Belle Microlocs™ with added length and fullness start at $2,350. These are starting prices because the number of locs, head size, density, length, chosen method and extension work can substantially change the labor and time involved.

A booking request lets you share your goals and hold a proposed time for review, but it is not automatically approved. If more information is needed, the salon may request photos or recommend a consultation. After Tae approves the plan, the 50% deposit link is sent through Square. The appointment is confirmed only when that deposit is paid.

Choosing twist, braid or interlocking starts

Twist starts can offer a softer visual beginning on suitable textures. Braid starts may give the base more stability but can take time for the pattern to soften. Interlocking can create a secure structure from the beginning and may work well for clients whose routines include frequent washing or activity. None is automatically best for everyone.

Your stylist considers how the chosen start will interact with the size of the grid, your desired parting, the way your hair responds to manipulation and the finish you want as the locs mature. The goal is not to chase the smallest possible loc; it is to build a sustainable system your hair can support.

Retightening, buildup prevention and home care

Microloc retightening with shampoo starts at $220. Maintenance timing varies, but consistency matters because excessive new growth can increase tangling, marrying and the amount of labor needed at the next visit. Your stylist can recommend a rhythm after seeing how quickly your hair grows and how the locs settle.

At home, use products and cleansing habits that avoid heavy residue. Separate locs carefully after washing, protect the hair during sleep and contact the salon if you notice persistent slippage, thinning or scalp discomfort. Pulling tightly at the hairline or repeatedly delaying maintenance can work against the healthy foundation created during installation.

From request to confirmed appointment

Online booking remains intentionally simple. Pick the microloc service, time and stylist; provide contact information and notes; then accept the published policies. Guest booking is allowed, while an account is optional for clients who want to view and manage appointments later.

The request appears in Tae’s studio portal as pending. Tae can approve it and prepare the deposit message. Once Square access and webhook integration are complete, successful deposit payment will automatically confirm the appointment and start email and text reminders at one week, three days and 24 hours. That payment-controlled sequence prevents an unpaid request from being mistaken for a confirmed seat.

No. Guest booking is available. Creating an account is optional and gives you access to appointment history and eligible online cancellation.

What confirms my appointment?

Tae first approves the request. The salon then sends a Square link for the 50% deposit; successful payment confirms the appointment.
