What the establishment process involves

An establishment is a major time commitment and a long-term hair decision. Pricing begins at $2,400 and varies with length, density, head size and the amount of time required. Your approval message will explain the deposit step; the appointment becomes confirmed only after the 50% deposit is paid through the Square link sent by the salon.

Arrive exactly as instructed, typically with clean, product-free hair in its natural state. The grid and locking pattern are installed with careful attention to consistency while still respecting the way your hair grows. Because establishments can require an extended appointment, the salon may discuss breaks, timing and realistic finishing expectations with you before the date.

Retightening and ongoing maintenance

The establishment is the beginning, not the finish line. Regular retightening keeps new growth organized and helps protect the structure of the locs. The menu includes Sisterlocks™ retightening with shampoo starting at $130. The actual service time and price depend on the amount of new growth, the condition of the grid and whether repairs or additional work are needed.

Waiting far beyond the recommended maintenance rhythm can create bunching, marrying, slippage or additional labor. Your stylist will help you understand a practical routine based on your hair rather than promising one schedule for every client. Between appointments, gentle cleansing, careful separation and avoiding heavy buildup support a healthier maintenance visit.

Styling without losing sight of hair health

Sisterlocks offer flexibility, but a style should never come at the expense of the hairline, scalp or integrity of the loc. Styling begins at $50 and can be discussed with the selected artist. The team considers tension, loc maturity and the condition of the hair before recommending a finish.

Newer locs and mature locs behave differently. Some looks may need to wait until the locs are ready, while others can be adapted to reduce tension. Honest guidance is part of the service: if a requested look is not the healthiest option that day, the stylist will explain why and suggest an alternative that still feels polished and personal.

How online booking works

Choose the Sisterlocks service, an available time and any stylist. You may book as a guest or create an optional account. After you accept the booking terms and submit, the request appears in Tae’s admin portal as pending. No payment is collected at this stage.

Tae reviews the service, timing and notes. When approved, the salon sends a secure Square link for the 50% deposit. Payment confirms the appointment. Once Resend, Twilio and Square webhooks are connected, clients will receive automatic confirmation and reminders one week, three days and 24 hours before the appointment. Until those integrations are live, the salon will communicate directly.
